Panchajanya Sharod Srestha Samman 2025 proudly announces the much-awaited Durga Pujo Award 2025, celebrating the artistic brilliance, cultural richness, and community spirit that define Bengal’s grandest festival.
This year, the awards will honour outstanding contributions across multiple categories, with exciting recognitions and cash prizes:

5 Srestha Prizes – ₹50,000 each
2 Udioman Prizes – ₹25,000 each
1 Serar Sera Prize – ₹1,00,000

The awards will cover diverse categories including Best Pujo Pandal, Best Idol, Best Lighting, Best Theme, Bengal Lokayata Shilpa, and Special Jury Awards.
The distinguished Jury Panel comprises eminent personalities from the worlds of Art, Culture, Media, and Public Life, ensuring fair and insightful evaluation.

Final Porikroma & Award Ceremony

After three rigorous rounds of scrutiny from among 432 pujos across the city, the Final Porikroma Convoy will be held on 29th September 2025, covering 12 shortlisted pujo pandals.

The Grand Award Ceremony is scheduled for 1st October 2025 at the winning pujo pandal premises. The event will be graced by dignitaries, celebrities, and community leaders, making it a landmark celebration of Bengal’s cultural pride.

আলো ছায়ার উপাখ্যান – A Powerful Tale of Struggle, Courage & Redemption

Glitterist proudly presents the coverage of the Bengali short film “আলো ছায়ার উপাখ্যান”, a gripping narrative produced by Digimax Creation Production, that unveils the harsh realities of human exploitation while celebrating courage, resilience, and hope.

A special Press Conference & Screening of the film was organized at Rotary Sadan, Kolkata, where the cast and crew interacted with the media and shared insights into the making of this impactful story. From the Glitterist side, the event was officially photographed by our in-house photographer Mr. Prosenjit Biswas, capturing the essence and emotions of this memorable evening.

The film narrates the story of Shubho and Sohag, a newly married couple whose lives are torn apart when Sohag is abducted and sold into a Kolkata brothel. Determined to bring her back, Shubho, with the advice of his father-in-law, a police officer friend, and a lawyer, disguises himself as a customer and enters the brothel. There, he meets Ayesha, whose life has also been trapped in the same world. While Ayesha initially rejects his request, her heart gradually softens, and she begins to fight against the current alongside him.

Will Ayesha succeed in her act of defiance?
Will Shubho be able to rescue Sohag from this dark world?
The film keeps audiences on edge while portraying the power of love, sacrifice, and courage against inhuman odds.

The film is presented by Shri Ratan Jhawar, directed by Arunima Dey, with script by Koyel Majumder. The stellar cast features Arpeeta Dutta Chowdhury, Subhadeep Chakraborty, Megha Sikdar, Arunima Dey, Debjani Ghosh, Ratan Jhawar, Somnath Sharma, among others. Music and creative direction are by Sujit Saha, with vocals by Saheli Chakraborty.

With a runtime of 28 minutes and 36 seconds, “আলো ছায়ার উপাখ্যান” promises to be a cinematic journey that blends realism, emotion, and social commentary.

Glitterist Pays Tribute on the 99th Birth Anniversary of Mahanayak Uttam Kumar

On the auspicious occasion of the 99th Birth Anniversary of Mahanayak Uttam Kumar, Glitterist proudly organized a heartfelt celebration to honor the everlasting legacy of the legend who redefined Bengali cinema. Uttam Kumar is not only remembered as the greatest actor of our times but also as a compassionate human being whose values continue to inspire generations.

For the last three years, July 24th (his death anniversary) and September 3rd (his birthday) have been observed with cultural and social initiatives that reflect the noble ideals he stood for. Continuing this tradition, the 2025 celebration was marked by music, honor, and social service.

Every year, in collaboration with Peerless Hospital, medical assistance and financial support are extended to technicians who silently contributed behind the camera. Keeping alive Uttam Kumar’s spirit of generosity, a veteran technician who once worked with him is provided with ₹10,000 as medical assistance from Peerless.

The evening also featured the prestigious “Living Legend” honor, celebrating eminent personalities who have enriched Bengali cinema and culture. In past years, this honor was conferred upon stalwarts like Madhabi Mukherjee, Lily Chakraborty, Shakuntala Barua, Soma Dey, and the late Nimai Dey, paying homage to their invaluable contribution.

Adding a melodic touch, celebrated artists including Sraboni Sen, Swagatalakshmi Dasgupta, Sampa Kundu, Arfin Rana, Ankan, Samik Pal, Sispiya Banerjee, and Riddhi Banerjee performed timeless songs from Uttam Kumar’s films. The presence of renowned actors such as Kushal Chakraborty, Diganta Bagchi, and Dolan Roy further elevated the grandeur of the occasion.
As Uttam Kumar once extended his helping hand to countless technicians and artists, this annual initiative ensures that his generosity and humanity continue to live on. With the centenary year (100th Birth Anniversary) approaching in 2026, Glitterist stands committed to carrying forward this journey of remembrance, respect, and responsibility.
